Effect of the Inlet Boundary Conditions on the Flow over Complex Terrain Using Large Eddy Simulation

For large eddy simulation, it is critical to choose the suitable turbulent inlet boundary condition as significantly affects calculated flow field. In this paper, effect of different conditions, including random method (RAND), Lund method, and divergence-free synthetic eddies (DFSEM), on in a channel with hump are investigated through large-eddy simulation. The simulation results further compared experimental data. It has been found that turbulence nearly fully developed case based not DFSEM, RAND method. region before hump, mean velocity profiles applying gradually fit law wall main moves towards but DFSEM methods cannot function. after cases could relative precisely predict size bubble statistics profiles. Meanwhile, capture positions separation re-attachment point overestimates size. From research, be inflow generation have manifested impact hump.
